Bedford Biofuels has engaged AM-Capital to introduce the company to high net worth and institutional investors in the ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) and the MENA (Middle East North Africa) regions. AM-Capital is also setting up a Shari’ah compliant fund for investment into Bedford projects.
AM-Capital is an independent financial and corporate consulting firm, incorporated under the rules of the LOFSA (Labuan Offshore Financial Services Authority), offering consulting services to clients including: corporate, private owners and managers of mid-sized companies as well as private equity and debt providers.
AM-Capital was the project sponsor for the successful application of Saudi based Al Rajhi Bank’s Islamic banking license in Malaysia. The company was further involved in the initial business planning for their Malaysian subsidiary Al-Rajhi Bank Malaysia during the license application.
Amran Mohamad, AM-Capital’s Managing Director says, “Bedford’s decision to make Kuala Lumpur the base for their fund raising efforts in the ASEAN and MENA region is a wise move. Malaysia’s position as one of the world’s Islamic finance hubs is recognized globally, and it has become a role model for many countries. Malaysia, with its large and growing palm oil industry, has the potential to play a major role in the world biofuel market.” AM-Capital is excited to open doors to potential investors for Bedford and Amran is confident that Bedford will be able to meet their fund raising objectives.

Bedford’s team in Malaysia says the market is highly anticipating Bedford’s engagement of AM-Capital. Bedford’s Managing Director says, “We have made a major commitment to Malaysia and are proud to make the country and its people an essential part of our Far East operations.
“Malaysia is the center of a very dynamic region poised for long-term growth and prosperity. The country’s modern infrastructure and highly English-literate workforce will prove to be key elements in Bedford’s success. We want to grow alongside Malaysia, assisting the country to become a vertically established leader in the emerging biofuel industry.”
Malaysia has an established oil and gas sector but at the same time has made a push towards being “Green”.
Chris Grant, Bedford’s Director – Asia Pacific, says, “I’ve been living in Asia for a decade and Malaysia for six of those years. The Malay people are kind by nature and conducting business here means forming long lasting relationships with local Business Associates. For expats that makes for a more seamless transition to Malaysia than other South East Asian countries.”
